Wedding Suits: Choosing Your Groom Style

Made to measure wedding suits for a London city wedding

Whether you are going classic or quirky; vintage or contemporary – we can create wedding suits that fit a whole array of styles and themes.

Two or Three-Piece?

While two-piece wedding suits are becoming a popular choice, three-piece wedding suits are still the favourite and add a dash of formality to your day.

Every day, you will see dozens of men strolling around in two-piece suits, however, three-piece suits are that little bit more special as, typically, they are not considered everyday wear.

If you have a budget in mind, remember that good quality two-piece made to measure wedding suits starts at £850 while our three-piece made to measure wedding suits start at £1,000.

Which Fabric?

Do not forget to consider the season your wedding will take place – easily forgotten if you are having your suit made for your summer wedding in the winter when it is cold, dark, and dreary outside.

Heavier fabric such as flannel will hold its shape better, however, it will also be warmer, which is great for an autumn wedding, or even a spring or early summer wedding, but a terrible choice if you are planning to jet abroad for your wedding or if you are getting married in the height of summer.

Great medium or lightweight fabric options include herringbone, mohair or, for a slightly more casual look, linen.

Which Colour?

To avoid experiencing a bridezilla moment on your special day, make sure you take your theme into consideration when choosing the colour of your wedding suit. You want something that compliments your theme as well as your skin tone.

With that being said, if you are hoping to wear your suit to other occasions in future, try and choose a colour that is neutral and will work for more than just your wedding day.

Never Forget The Lining

A luxurious satin lining is a favourite of ours, however, it can bump up the price of your made to measure wedding suit. A great alternative that is sure to keep your temperature down when your nerves are up is a lightweight cupro lining.

We love a contrast lining so go ahead and be bold! Also, if you opted for a neutral tone for the exterior of your suit, you can pull in your theme with the lining of your suit.
